Design Notes

The fusion protein that links the dimer and trimer forms a 109.5 degree angle that makes self assembly more optimal.

This cage was designed by Dr. Todd Yeates at UCLA. It's subunits are a fusion of a naturally trimeric protein(Bromoperoxidase) and a naturally dimeric protein(M1 Matrix).
